The „Ski & Boarderweek“ in Val Thorens with the HOTZONE.TV Team

 

On Friday,11th of December 09, some of the HOTZONE.TV team riders packed once again their boardbags, backpacks and suitcases to hit the road. This time the destination was the "Ski & Boarderweek" at Val Thorens in France. The HOTZONE.TV team was presented by Lars "LO" Oesterle, Daniel "Tiger" Mösl, Georg "Gromster" Huber, Anthony „the Belger“ Smits, myself Karl "DonKoaleone" Brandl and of course the good soul of the HOTZONE.TV team Pia!

 

 With two packed cars the convoy started it's way and after a little "lost - overnight" stop in the Aosta Valley (ITA) we arrived in Val Thorens on saturday morning! We built up our HOTZONE.TV stand and started celebrating christmas a little earlier by giving away some HOTZONE.TV goodie bags. In the evening we settled down in our home, where we were supposed to be living for the week. A nice appartement with "french-style" sizing ;-)

 

 For the next days the HOTZONE.TV pro coachings were on the plan taking place everyday in the morning at the easy fun park. We were there to advise all interested snowboarders for tips & tricks and ride the park together. The coaching was a blast as everybody was highly motivated and progressing everyday. The whole HOTZONE.TV team really enjoyed these coaching sessions as there is nothing better than the grin on your face after a new-learned trick. And that grin was seen nearly every day in the faces of our trainees. On Thursday our rookies had to show their new-learned skills at the „goodie-for-trix“ contest. Danny, Georg and me judged the contest and we were happy to see our trainees going for it.

 

 After the coaching sesssions we mostly had some time to explore the huge resort of Val Thorens - a nearly endless resort with an elevation up to 3003m. Also the massive Pro Park in Val Thorens has to be mentioned which stoked us all with it's massive set-up and a super nice 17m booter in the middle. Here especially Anthony Smits impressed the frenchies with his skills. "That was seriously the best fu$#&% cab 900 I've ever done...:" were his words and so we recognized once again that very special grin, this time on his face. Everybody had a great time in the park and so big-up to the french shaping skills!

 

 The partyprogram at the Ski&Boarderweek was a blast and acts like "Luke 4000" the DJ of the famous german Dancehall Combo „Seeed“ were on the plan. Also we have to mention the very special "Hüttenabend" the whole team joined on Wednesday evening. On a hut on top of the mountain, nearly 1000 people celebrated a party that searched for it's own. The DJ Team "Rythmusgymnastik" was more than motivated and so you could see half naked people dancing at a temperature of -20°C. The HOTZONE.TV team decided rather to keep clothes on and drinks low and finally enjoyed sledging down with our snowboards in the moon light.

 

 The whole week was truely amazing and everybody from the team had a great time in "la grande nation." Thanks to everybody from the "Ski & Boarderweek" and the E&P team for having us there and big ups to everybody who joined our coachings and confirmed once again what snowboarding really is about: having as much fun as possible!
